Al Houghton has been writing, performing, and producing music for thirty years. He founded Dubway Studios as a modest underground recording facility in the mid-1980s. Since then he has recorded hundreds of artists in a vast array of styles & contexts (including They Might Be Giants, Alicia Keys, Dr. John, David Byrne, Angelo Badalamenti, Jules Shear, and Suzanne Vega.) An active guitarist in NYC's music scene, he has composed & produced music for many live performing acts and record releases. As the studio expanded into a full service audio post and audio production facility, Houghton has found creative opportunities in film and television as well, working with Nick, Jr., MTV and VH1. His responsibilities as owner of Dubway Studios aside, Houghton currently performs with Fang recording artists and NYC denizens, Life In A Blender.
